URnetwork encrypts traffic on the user's device and routes it through a mesh of community-run nodes so that no single node sees the full path. It is presented as an alternative to traditional VPNs, using peer-to-peer routing with Tor-like anonymization instead of asking users to trust a central provider. The network and apps are open source and built reproducibly, allowing users to verify what is running.
